AIM is pleased to present a series of conference calls to provide information and ideas for program managers to increase HPV vaccine coverage rates.  AIM’s HPV Call to Action series began in response to a call to action by CDC/NCIRD Director Anne Schuchat, M.D.




September 26th, 2018

“Utilizing Data to Improve Adolescent HPV Rates.” Dave McCormick, AIM chair and program manager for the Indiana Immunization Program gave a presentation on his state’s experience with using available data to improve adolescent HPV rates. Lauren Hoffman-Arriaga, epidemiologist with the state of Texas highlighted how VFC administration data was used to inform providers of their progress toward recommended HPV vaccine administration numbers. Click here for the recording and slides


July 24th, 2018

This broadcast highlights program practices from Chapter 4: “Inform & Educate Providers” of the AIM Adolescent Immunization Resource Guide . Learn about activities from the Kentucky, West Virginia and Minnesota immunization programs. The activities include a statewide adolescent immunization conference an HPV vaccination campaign and provider-focused videos. December 13th, 2017

On Wednesday, December 13, 2017, The Alaska, Montana, Pennsylvania and Washington state immunization programs provided and overview of their activities featured in chapters 2 (Engaging Teens Directly) and 3 (Engaging Stakeholders) of the Adolescent Immunization Resource Guide. Click here for the recording and slides.


September 13th, 2017

On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, South Dakota and Sanford Health shared their joint efforts to raise adolescent HPV rates through the implementation of evidence-based interventions. Additionally, CDC's Adolescent Immunization Communications team presented resources and messaging strategies around the 2016 NIS-Teen data.Click here for the recording and slides.

On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, the HPV-Call-to-Action Webinar spotlighted immunization program awardees of the “Increasing HPV Vaccine Coverage by Strengthening Adolescent AFIX” PPHF grant. Learn about the plans, future activities, outcomes and lessons learned of immunization program awardees, including Puerto Rico, the city of Houston and Rhode Island! Our first webinar of the year focused on information and resources to improve HPV vaccine coverage through immunization program partnerships with the American Cancer Society. April 18, 2016 

The April 2016 AIM HPV Call to Action Webinar featured Noel Brewer, PhD, Professor at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health and Chair of the National HPV Vaccination Roundtable, Jill Roark, Adolescent Immunization Communications CDC/NCIRD, and Melissa Gilkey, PhD, behavioral scientist, Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare Institute. Ms. Roark presented new data on communications and messaging, and Dr. Gilkey presented information about studies on AFIX and HPV vaccination.
