AIM hosted a webinar featuring the Tennessee immunization program’s Vaccines for Children (VFC) program team. The team shared an innovative approach to improving birthing hospital enrollment and engagement in the VFC program. Recognizing a gap in communication during the onboarding process, the team developed the Intensive Onboarding Initiative (IOI) to better support busy birthing hospital providers and clinical staff. Through scheduled, one-on-one Microsoft Teams sessions, staff guide birthing hospital staff through enrollment requirements using real-time screen sharing, allowing questions to be addressed efficiently and accurately. This personalized approach not only streamlines the onboarding process, but also fosters stronger relationships, builds trust from the outset, and reduces the time required to successfully enroll birthing hospitals in the VFC program.
