Updated Hepatitis B Vaccination Recommendation

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted in November 2021 to update the adult hepatitis B vaccination recommendation. The updated recommendation expands the vaccination age range to adults aged 19-59 and removes the risk factor assessment previously recommended for determining vaccine eligibility. This expansion to all adults under 59 can help ensure that more people in our communities are protected against infection. Hepatitis B vaccines are safe with well-established efficacy.
