2012 Natalie J. Smith, M.D. Award

The Natalie J. Smith, M.D. Award is presented in recognition of Natalie J. Smith's outstanding management and leadership skills in the area of state and national vaccine-preventable disease programs.  This Award, presented annually by the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM), is the highest form of recognition for Immunization Program Managers.  It is established to recognize the contributions (during the past year or during the career) of an Immunization Program Manager who has demonstrated the high ideals, innovation and commitment to excellence in immunization practices that characterized Dr. Smith's career. The award recognizes accomplishments and visionary leadership that have had a significant impact on achieving city, state, territory, and/or national vaccine-preventable disease goals.

Any individual or organization wishing to recognize the outstanding work of an Immunization Program Manager may submit a nomination, utilizing the format detailed on the 2012 Natalie J. Smith, M.D. Award Nomination Form by January 9, 2012. The recipient of the 2012 Natalie J. Smith, M.D. Award will be named on February 1, 2012 at the Program Managers meeting in Atlanta.
