Immunization practices and policies at four-year colleges and universities in Washington state [2018 Bull’s-Eye Award Winner!]

[2018 Bull’s-Eye Award Winner!]  While many states have state laws or regents’ policies requiring prematriculation immunization requirements, Washington state has no such policy in place. Despite the 2004 Washington law requiring dissemination of information about meningococcal disease and vaccination, only 63% of all institutions provided required information and educational material to the specified students as per the provisions of the law.  The immunization program developed a college survey to determine the current vaccine-preventable disease immunization requirements and policies of four-year public and private colleges and universities in Washington.
