New York – Responding to the Largest Measles Outbreak in New York since the United States Elimination

The New York State Department of Health utilized a variety of strategies to combat the measles which primarily occurred in 3 counties in the state. This presentation focuses on forming relationships among health partners and community outreach. Door-to-door campaigns were conducted to distribute educational materials. Challenges are outlined, including those associated with excluding just under 6,000 students from school.
