AIM membership and staff participate in a number of groups and initiatives
to help formulate sound national immunization policy.
Flu Partners Working Group
In preparation for the 2005-06 flu season, CDC holds weekly planning calls
with public health partners. AIM is represented on the calls by Chair Dan Hopfensperger
(WI), Chair-elect Howard Backer (CA), and Epidemiology/Surveillance Committee
Chair Kris Ehresmann (MN).
Partnership for Prevention
Executive Director Claire Hannan represents AIM on Partnership for
Prevention’s
immunization committee.
Immunization Coalition
AIM participates in a coalition of national organizations supportive of the
Section 317 immunization program led by the Association of State and Territorial
Health Officials (ASTHO) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Influenza Vaccine Summit
Executive Director Claire Hannan represents AIM on the Influenza Vaccine Summit,
a national group of organizations with an interest in flu vaccination (manufacturers,
distributors, providers, health plans, federal, state and local government,
consumer groups, advocacy groups, etc.) convened by the American Medical Association
and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Kris Ehresmann (MN) represented AIM at the annual Influenza Vaccine Summit in
May,
2005.
Public Engagement Pilot Project on Pandemic Influenza
AIM Chair Dan Hopfensperger (WI) represents AIM on this national
stakeholders group convened by the Institute of Medicine and The Keystone
Center to coordinate
input from the public on the goals and priorities of
a potential pandemic influenza vaccination program.
